Given that 113 was ordered quite some time after 111 & 112, how did General Motors find a business case to restart a production line for one engine? It
must have been much more expensive to build.
Interesting, you could say many of the components (bodypanels, bogies, engine etc) were similar to any other loco GM were building at the time so it was a
case that only a few parts (cabs, axles etc) had to be custom made
True true Drimangh Road but what I don't get on NIRs behalf is buying two brand new locos just a mere 10 years after 113 was built? In fairness like you
have 3 relatively new locos and then they were ordering more from general motors just 10 years later...
Hopefully 112 will come back out but I just hope that we get her back for freight down here, it's a shame that nobody has pictures of a 111 with the new
freight livery down here yet. Maybe she might come out with a new 111 livery? Scary...!
Id say it was moreso the revamp of the line and IE ordering 32 JT42HCW's (201's) so it was cheaper for NIR to order 2 at the time and not later,
also 208/9 are the same as 206/7 with a slightly different spec to the original (201-5,210-214) and push pull (215-234). The line was upgraded aswell as the
Dietrichs being ordered

I thought it was a lovely livery too, probably the nicest overall on all trains. I used to love seeing the "blue train" flying past the house,
thats what I called it back then. I was only about 7 at the time when they were replaced by the DDs; to this day I have never fully forgiven the DDs for
getting rid of my favourite trains!!!

Yes indeed, i think it is probably the finest livery ever carried by a MK2 coach it was so smart and businesslike. I think it might survive on one or two
mK2s stored at Whitehead not entirely sure.

present day, on the way back there was a big discussion amongUK gricers, making a trip back down to Westport or Claremorris the next day to travel back on the
15.10ex Westport behind 038, now thats what I call dedication, did they make the trip, there was no message boards in them days, perhaps some are members on
this board, maybe post up a report on the trip 18years later, better late than never.
