Hi GM134! Yeah there is still one there (amazingly)! 177 has been doing the honours for the past number of weeks, 144 prior to that.
I remember the good days when 160 was the resident Connolly pilot for months at a time! Commuter 29422

Hi Commuter29422,
Cheers for that, good to hear there is still the chance to hear the sweet tune of an EMD 567 ticking over in Connolly, oh yes, gone sadly are the days when 160 was Connolly's (near) permanent resident!! Kind Regards, GM 134 |

Ah that sound would not be aloud heard in Connolly GM134,most of the time the engine is off, however, today it worked a DART transfer.
144 was beside Heuston Valet on the Platform 6 side @ 23:15.So it did actually move today, from one side of the valet to the other |

GM072 wrote:In fairness, I think you'll find the majority of the time that the Connolly pilot is running, whether it's around the back of the Valeting plant or beside the loco shed. I'd be in Connolly most days of the week and the only time you see the pilot shut down is when there's a fault with it. It's usually sent/hauled back to Inchicore a day or two later. 177 was around the back of Connolly at 0845 this morning, it was great to "hear the sweet tune of an EMD 567 ticking over in Connolly", music to my ears!!!
