Posts: 425 (11/08/09 20:54:44) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	11/08/09, 152 operated light engine at 10:30 from Athlone-Ballina this morning arriving in Ballina at 14:35, It was then attached to loco's 214 and 082 and hauled them up the yard where 214 was detached-152 then ran around and coupled to 082 and shunted it to the "through road"where 152 was then shutdown,both loco's are due to depart Ballina at 09:00 in the morning for Inchicore, An attempt is to be made to start 214 tomorrow as it parked next to 087 and will be jump started as I'm told that 214 has flat batteries. On closer inspection I see that the old reliable 152 last got a paint job in March 1995.....!!!!

A rare sight nowadays getting two orange locos together, especially from different classes. Both engines were later on shed at Limerick. 141+147 stabled in Ennis yard with an empty track panel train. Matrlwy

They are due to be displayed, along with a repainted B113, several items of RPSI stock, 5408, and A39, at an open day being held this coming weekend (22 August) at Inchicore Works. This open day is for IE staff and their families ONLY. Peter Jones

It was one of those situations where I considered having the camera on stand by as Inchicore approached but decided not to take it out as nothing would probably be there. Famous last words... Posts: 2371 (20/08/09 22:05:35) Full Member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	20/08/2009: Prior to that Dart transfer Csalem, 144 hauled Steam loco 186 from Connolly to Inchicore this morning, departing Connolly at 0813; it returned (LE) at 0937. I'd say that Dart transfer is for a repaint rather than wheel turning, 8127/8327 was the last Dart to go for repaint, it was hauled over to Inchicore on 10th July, so another one is due.
