Regarding the above - It was noted that GM 111 and the 5 coach "Gatwick" Mk 2 set were NOT in York Road at 18.30 hrs this evening.

GM and Gatwicks were in the siding at York Road at about 16.00, so where did they go?

111 and Gatwicks were probably out on training runs as they have been the past few weeks.

Further to my post of 23/08/2007.
I've since been told that the GM and coaches were observed entering York Road depot at 19.50 that evening. This would tie in with the training run to Portadown and back. |

I am surprised that no one has commented on last evenings failure in the Castlebellingham area.
It seems that a coach ran a hot box on a Belfast-Dublin service . The passengers were transferred to the northbound set and detrained at Dundalk. Pilotworking was established around the failed set which was eventually cleared in the wee small hours and the offending vehicle detached. DSE |

221 operated the 1410 Belfast central-Connolly via Great Victoria Street tonight arriving loco leading into the platform at Connolly. Luckily the HEP was turned off immediatly on arrival!

^I was in Connolly just before 17:00 and the HEP was back on. The air was very thick with fumes!!

Re: Enterprise Watch | ||

I took a spin out to Mullingar with 076 on the 17:05 Sligo last night, when I arrived in Connolly to get a ticket you could hear the unmerciful roar of a 201 on HEP all over the main concourse. And as Csalem pointed out the air under the trainshed was thick with fumes, there was a 29000 in Platform 3 as well to add to the noise :-)
They moved 221 out from under the trainshed for a bit & then propelled back in just before boarding & departure. It looked so funny seeing 9002 leading out of Connolly... |

Enterprise - 1100 Dublin Connolly to Belfast Central 14-Sep-2007 12:57
Due to mechanical difficulties the 1100 Enterprise from Dublin to Belfast will be delayed by 60 minutes. Enterprise - 1410 Belfast Central to Dublin Connolly 14-Sep-2007 13:40 Due to earlier mechanical problems the 1410 service from Belfast Central to Dublin Connolly will be a non-Enterprise with limited catering. Anyone know what worked the 14.10 from Belfast? |

Re: Enterprise Watch | ||

I git worried there as I could not find this thread; it had moved to page 2.
Tonight's 16:50 ex Dublin was 20 minutes late into Portadown; no announcements or apologies or walkthrough the train - at least in First Class. Then the waiting CAF in Portadown was dispatched before the Enterprise arrival with connecting passengers having to await the 19:15 hrs to Belfast. It was then late and was filled up by all the passengers from another Enterprise ....... and again no apology or announcement by the conductor or Portadown station staff. Was it 113 & Gatwicks causing the problem? Regards,

Re: Enterprise Watch | ||

I think you can forgive the 20 minutes late arrival of the 16:50, 233 was on it. Maybe the driver was enjoying this rare experience. I think it left Connolly about three mins late this evening.

233 on the Enterprise passed me earlier today near Malahide (circa 12:40) on an up service. As some of you railcar boys like to say, she was putting in a Hellfire run!!!
208 was on the 16:50 service to Belfast. |

Re: Enterprise Watch | ||

dont think it would have been a hellfire run given that it was due into Connolly at that time.probably lost its slot behind a dart instead

Just heard on the radio that the 10.30 ex Belfast failed at the platform this morning - fault appears to have been in the coaching stock. The replacement train provided was also failed at the platform with defective doors. The long suffering passengers are now on their way some 90 minutes late!

My! my! but this has become a very quiet thread. Just to report that C3K set 03 was out back of Connolly yesterday a.m [Weds]. Must have come down on something and failed/got substituted.

The 1030 ex Belfast was about 35 mins late this morning. Didn't see it, just heard it passing through Raheny at 1305, normally goes through at 1225/1230.
