Two things about post 202,
(1) It would have made sense to install a run around loop as how is a loco hauled railtour ever going to get down there? They didn't think it through very well during planning as Irish Rail don't exactly do top 'n' tail do they and I certainly have no intention of going down there on a unit.
(2) I don't think I've ever seen the front information screeens on a 2700 work before, now that is a surprise!
I think an empty working to Youghal is planned....should not cost too much when compared to the large amount of empty workings the 22ks will have to make to/from Dublin for service at Portlaoise over the remainder of their operational life...makes the empty workings from Manulla to Claremorris seem like a daisy in a bulls mouth.
I would expect that when the new timetable is introduced in September CR, that most of the empty workings will actually be changed to operate in service - which should result in Portlaoise getting a far better service.
