Bus transfers are in operation until further notice. Delays of up to an hour are to be expected as the roads around Galway are already congested as the N17 and the N6 into Galway are in-passible due to flooding. From the AA.

Posts: 1007 (19/11/09 19:36:37) Full Member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	22012 worked into Galway with the 1110 from Heuston this morning before the line was closed. It is now stranded in Galway and providing shuttle services to/from Athenry. The Revolution is complete........

Posts: 578 (20/11/09 23:09:38) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Thankfully Westport/Ballina-Athlone line had no serious problems reported-although several locations between Castlerea and Roscommon were being closely monitered and for a couple of hours a TSR of 5 mph was imposed at the Castlerea end of Roscommon station due to slight flooding near the line beside a road overbridge, At Ballyvary where the Ballina branch crosses over the N5 road-a large flood developed under the bridge causing 3 mile tailbacks,The''Park and ride''facilaties at the nearby station being closed since 1963.....!!!!!

Due to flooding the 19.15 Heuston departure to Galway terminated at Athlone with bus transfers to Galway. As Ballinasloe and Craughwell are flooded on the N6, sections of the soon to be opened M6 have been opened temporarily as an emergency. We transversed the new link road from Loughrea to the M6 which is built on the former Loughrea branch alignment as far as Dunsandle. An IE driver and ticket checker were on broad making the experience a wee bit authentic... Galway/Dublin services will operate with bus transfers between Galway and Athlone as a result. Local trains will operate from Galway to Athenry/Woodlawn. However, customers travelling to and from stations between Athlone and Dublin should avail of the bus transfers detailed above. These arrangements will continue until lunchtime Monday 23rd November at the earliest. Further details will be updated on this website.

Full services have resumed between Galway and Dublin. Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused.
