According to the IR website & AA Roadwatch formations were reduced on the 0758 from Maynooth and 0832 from Drogheda due to "an earlier train
failure". The 0758 was stated to be running 20 minutes late.
The Drogheda issue would appear to have been due to the failure (yet again) of the mixed formation 0718 from Drogheda, necessitating the substitution on the 8-car 2900 rostered for the following service.
I believe the reason for the Maynooth disruption was something other than a train failure and that passengers (if any) on an early morning service to Maynooth may have had rather an interesting trip.
