Is there a good view of the hills and glens of Antrim from the train? Am thinking of taking the route.

Nothing exciting on the Co. Antrim part, but bits of the Coleraine to Derry section are spectacular especially around Downhill. Remember that the line
doesn't reopen until 29th June.

Would recommend that you purchase a Freedom of Northern Ireland Ticket which offers unlimited travel on N.I.R., Ulsterbus and Citybus. The views from the train between Belfast and Coleraine are not unattractive with views of the Antrim Hills north of Ballymena. Between Coleraine and Derry there is spectacular coastal and estuarine scenery. To see the Antrim Coast and Glens one would recommend that you use the Ulsterbus Antrim Coaster service between Belfast and Portrush. From Portrush you can travel by train via Coleraine to either Derry or Belfast. |

Ok, thanks for the info on the coastal part. Have always wanted to travel on the Coleraine-Derry section. Anyone know what the views are like going through
Antrim by bus?
