Track maintainence should have priority every now and again you know.
After all,you cant run a railway without rails.
Maybe you left out a 2?Meant to say 22011?
22040 10:15 Heuston - Portlaoise 6 people off at Kildare, then empty from there.
22029 13:15 Kildare - Heuston link
22030 14:35 Kildare - Heuston link

Still, from what I hear, the 0740 from Waterford has been a chaotic shambles so far with massive overcrowding. One would have thought that the 3-piece would
be a better fit for the 0610 from Waterford - run non-stop from Athy if necessary to avoid overcrowding from Kildare and Newbridge.

0740 Waterford-Heuston very busy at Kildare.
0750 Rosslare-Connolly arrived Connolly full to capacity.
1835 Thurles well loaded leaving Heuston
1240 Westport well loaded.
Wern't the (then) 07.30 and 12.40 not 8x Piece Mk3's a while ago?? I'm not wishing to go back down the road of railcar VS loco hauled
again - both have their dis-advantages, and advantages, the 22k's are here to stay and Mk3's are now becoming a distant memory, thats life.
Anyway, would it not make better sence to use them 2x 3 car sets which are doing flip all on the Kildare route and put them on the 07.40 Waterford to make 2x 3
car units - not ideal, but at least there will be more capacity, and use the second 3 piece to increase capacity on the 12.40 Westport, again not ideal that
it's 2x 3 pieces but it's better than nothing. You have displaced 2800 sets, use them on the Kildare locals, they're ideal for that work, and
reliability shouldn't be an issue as has been stated on other threads that the 2800s have done a grand job on the Rosslare line in terms of relibilty -
although totally un-suited for the fare paying customer who's travelling beyond Wiklow/Arklow.
One thing I.E seem to have FINALLY got complete is putting 6x pieces on the Sligo line, what they should have got from day 1 once the Mk 2's bowed out,
rather than them totally un-suited 29000 rubbish which was totally un-suited for the journey, along with 2x 3 piece units. It's great to see IE have
finally got their act together on the Sligo line. It is a role model for all other lines at what a sucess it has become. Facing the real threat of closure from
Longford - Sligo in the 1980's and 1990's having 3 trains each way now up to 8 has to be commended. Well done to IE, now, this should be a role model
for all other lines. How about starting to run Limerick - Waterford as an Intercity service?? And put INTERCITY units on the new line from Limerick - Galway??
