The OHLE must be in a poor condition given the never ending repairs.

As the morning empty workings from Dublin no longer run do the crews now travel by taxi ?
No, the OHLE has finished OK although it seemed to go on for ever. The current disruption is listed as 'Esserntial Engineering Works' The thing that gets me is the attitude that train cancellations are fine as long as a bus is available. For instance the Ballina railcar is now swapped on a Wednesday and three rail trips are substituted by buses from Claremorris. My book says that consistency and reliability are an essential ingredient of proper train service provision. Punters don't understand the difficulties involved; they just demand that a train turns up as per timetable and no messing. It appears to the uninitiated that the service is being run for the benefit of the staff and not the customer.
