It is probably no harm for the driver to use the public timetable, it should be easier to read and might avoid the train running ahead of the published schedule, especially on the more lighly used workings.

You are right, of course, there should be a full A4 sized sheet (or similar) for each working showing all the relevant information including the advertised schedule.

As regards the driver change on the platform at Clontarf Road, this is still not the normal arrangement and was probably done to give the TV producers a bit of space. Eliminating the current idiotic crew change at Fairview would improve system capacity and punctuality at virtually no cost. Just requires a bit of management input.
