When the Kildare Route is finished, are there any plans for all Inter City Trains to stop where they can make a connection without having to go to Heuston? I
get the 10:50 from Galway, but Portarlington is the last stop before Dublin.

It will depend on how the service patterns develop.
It is likely that there will be far more Heuston/Portlaoise and v.v. services in the next timetable change and they should enable more connections to be made. |

Given the "Dublin centric" approach to timetabling, I can see a lot of journeys becoming more difficult (look at Newbridge - Portlaoise (or indeed anywhere virtually west of Kildare), the two largest intermediate settlements between Dublin and Cork, or anywhere north of Thurles to anywhere from Limerick Junction southwards as just two current examples). How frequent will the KR connections be? Will they be every 15mins?
