Is there anything known of plans for a strategic reserve of small GMs or are they moving towards total withdrawal?

What 141's are out'n'about now? Kilmastulla, Castlemungret, WRC... ballast??? Anyone know? Looking over notes, it's now well over a year since
121's were seen - how time flies. And for people of my vintage, the demise of the last "A"'s on the Tara seems only yesterday....

Aye and the train was cancelled with passengers transferred to the 1630 Cork - Heuston and 1735 Limerick - Heuston.
The train was still standing on the platform at 1910 as the 1730 Cork - Heuston left. "Out of the chair." |

Hi guys,
Do we know if it was 071 or 081 that bought the e.c.s. back from Thurles, and also was 171 & 152 included in that or were they dumped at Thurles for later movement? Personally, it was a great tour but I think it was cancelled a bit abruptly, especially since the thunderbird was twenty minutes down the road switched on, but I can take it that options were considered and it was not possible to have 081 drag the train through for whatever reason. Anyway everybody got seats comfortably on the 16:30 ex Cork and arrangements were made for people travelling on the 20:45 Belfast. Strangely we were looking at the driver climbing on the roof of 171 when we arrived at Limerick, but we assumed it was ok when we came back from our break it as they would have changed it at Limerick if was not fit. 57 & Pendolino drags are back every Saturday on the North Wales Coast |
