From Friday all Dublin / Cork / Mallow - Tralee service will be operated by 22000's with the exception of the 22:20 Cork - Tralee and 05:25 Tralee - Cobh which will remain Commuter DMU operated. I would certainly agree if this was to be a regular occurrence, but as I've said before I'd suspect that the Showtime Express will be a "limited edition" and will return to the distant memory once the new timetable is initiated. One would suspect that the revenues generated must be covering the costs. Incidentally airlines do in fact frequently make positioning moves with aircraft to operate one-off revenue services, often quite a distance. I remember flying to Cardiff for last year's Heineken Cup Final from Dublin on board a Czech aircraft that had flown in empty from Prague.
