Is it not a bit short sighted by IE to be so eager to withdraw all Mark3s even the versatile Mark3 PushPulls when such issues below arise with the MarkIV.

Well the problem with push pulls is there limit to 6 carriages and also to their 70MPH speed limit. They are not a good idea for Corks whether a mk3 set is a
better option with easy run around facilities in cork and generally a spare loco in heuston that can hook up take the train to cork and release the other loco
from the back!

Instead of scrapping the 6100 Driving Trailers when the day comes, why not convert them to carry a 45ft box behind the Driver and make the DFDS Liner a Push
Pull. No more running around or need for a shunter in Kildare. Two could even be converted for carrying logs!

Well, one upon a time, didn't Dick Fearn tell us at the IRRS that he was looking at a freight DMU? Here's a potential solution for him, and I'm
sure the clever men in Inchicore would jump at the chance of doing a MacGyver job on a DVT and to produce a PP freight car!
Lets try and get a potentially interesting debate going here: what would be the technical issues with doing this? Recession......what recession? Pass me my cigars and brandy there like a nice chap! |

Maybe this should go in the history section, but question for the experts: was 206 the first 201 to operate on the push/pulls? It was certainly the first one I
saw on it and was a bit surprised as I was expecting it to be delivered in Enterprise livery but it came in orange. It passed me one day heading into Dublin in
Balbriggan (where else?!) as I was coming home.

082 and 6101 seemed to have spent the night in Kildare yard:
