Train times (as per the website)
Train Schedule DIrect AND Express... under 3 Hours Outward Friday Depart Heuston 10.40 hrs - Arrive Killarney 13.35hrs Return Sunday Depart Killarney 14.50 hrs - Arrive Heuston 18.08hrs 3 ICR will be the stock most likely to be used. "Out of the chair." |

This concept was introduced in the 1980s and blossomed into the Railbreak package which gave great value throughout the recessionary period of the time and
lasted into the early '90s. Patronage began to dwindle as the Celtic Tiger determined our choice of 'weekend break' with New York and other such
far away places overshadowing Dickie Rock in the Gleneagles.
It's great to see 'homemade' entertainment coming to the fore again. Hopefully, I.É will resurrect the whole Railbreak concept and a brochure will once again be forthcoming. DSE |

Well CR, remember that the new timetable has not started yet.
When it does I would think 22Ks will be in short supply and the Showtime Express will be no more! |

I presume that the set which goes down on Fridays to Killarney and then be swapped with a Cork-based set which can work back on Sundays to Dublin and then
Portlaoise for servicing. Would save a long empty train working all the way from Cork.

The Showtime Express is back!
22013 worked the 1st Showtime Express train for over a decade departing Heuston at 1040 to Killarney after working in from Carlow on the 0630 service with sister unit 22003. It is reported that 85 people travelled to Killarney for the weekend break. I hope they enjoy Dickie Rock 
22013 operated back to Heuston and rejoined with 22003 and worked the 1915 to Galway. "Out of the chair." |
