Saturday the 28th of November 2009 saw another era pass in Irish Railway History when 2800 class DMU's were displaced from Rosslare Intercity services. Today saw the last 08:25 Cobh - Tralee through service. This service ran six days a week (Mon - Sat). 22 217 operated the last service, seen here passing MP170, between Glounthaune and Little Island. The new timetable sees the end of Class 29000's to Carlow and indeed all Heuston based workings so I took a spin to Carlow this evening to sample a 29000 on the Waterford Branch for one final time.

Tamper 751 was stabled in Kildare and Sandite 734 was going out on its nightly trip of the Dublin Suburban System.

Latest update to http://thewanderersirishrailphotos.fotopic.net/c1783051_25.html sees the remainder of my photos from in and around Waterford including Dunkitt, Waterford Yard showing withdrawn MKIII's and 2720+2721, 152 and an unidentified 071, Bilberry and Grace Dieu Junction on the long closed Waterford South Branch.

With the Rosslare - Dublin line closed between Gorey - Wicklow due to landslides at two locations it became necessary to swap out the 29000 DMU No. 29024 which had been providing services between Rosslare and Gorey since the closure last weekend. The latest update sees photos from Heuston and Portarlington including an unusual arrival of two down trains into the station at the same time tonight. Also included is 175 + 177 which are stabled at Portarlington on the Ballast Train.
