073 operated L.E. from Athlone-Ballyhaunis this morning crossing the 07:00 Westport-Heuston ICR in Roscommon at 08:30-It then worked the loaded ballast train to Castlerea up siding where it was detached and then ran L.E. back to Athlone crossing the 08:20 Heuston-Westport ICR in Roscommon at 10:20,
It is due to be replaced by 146 over the next few days,

Yesterday 073 hauled failed 146 from Athlone to Inchicore,on arrival in Inchicore 146 was detached and after refuelling 073 it returned to Athlone and was then used by the permanent way dept to assess the Athlone-Ballinasloe-Woodlawn section of the Galway line,After the section was cleared for normal service to resume 073 went back to Athlone,
